About Piggy Playground

Bubbles and Squeak, two guinea pigs in a tube

Bubbles & Squeak

HELLO, we’re Bubbles & Squeak.

We’re two cute guinea pigs who love teaching people how to take good care of piggies like us.

As expert wheek-ers, carrot munchers, and hay connoisseurs, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to share our wisdom with the world with the help of our human.

I’m Bubbles

I love to to jump around happily for no reason. People call this “popcorning.” I enjoy hiding in cozy spots and love it when people scratch under my chin. I’m also a huge fan of pea flakes!

and I’m Squeak!

I’m the chatty one who loves making “wheek” sounds all the time. I’m really good at making loud noises when I hear the rustling of the treat bag. I love running through tunnels and have strong feelings about how our soft bedding should be set up.

Together, we want to help people understand what guinea pigs need to be happy and healthy. We’ll talk about the right foods to eat, how to set up our homes, why we need friends, and how to keep us healthy.

So stick around, bring us a carrot (pretty please!), and join us on this fun guinea pig adventure!

ABOUT ME

Hey there! I’m Alison

I’m the two-legged, non-furry member of this guinea pig adventure team. I’m 33 years old, based in the UK with a heart full of love for all things adorable and squeaky.

When I’m not busy being the guinea pig translator for Piggy Playground you can find me:

  • Battling digital dragons in video games 🎮
  • Jet-setting around the globe, always on the lookout for the world’s cutest critters ✈️
  • Sneaking up on unsuspecting wildlife with my camera 📸

I’m Fluffy The Hedgehog

My love affair with guinea pigs started when I was a kid, and it’s been a non-stop piggy party ever since! But don’t think I’m playing favorites – my animal-loving heart has room for all kinds of furry (and not-so-furry) friends. I’ve been a proud pet parent to:

  • Doggos with wagging tails 🐕
  • Hedgehogs with pointy attitudes (Princess Fluffy, pictured to the left) 🦔
  • Rabbits with ears for days 🐰
  • Hamsters with cheeks full of secrets 🐹
  • And many more wonderful creatures!

So, whether you’re a seasoned piggy pro or just starting your guinea pig journey, I’m here to share all the fuzzy wisdom I’ve gathered over the years.

Let’s Team Up

Guinea pigs are all about community, and so am I! 🐹💖 Just like our fuzzy friends love to popcorn together, I’m always on the lookout for awesome collaborations.

Got an idea that’ll make our guinea pig gang go wild with excitement? I’m all ears.

Here’s what I’m squeaking with excitement about:

  • 🖊️ Guest Posts: I welcome insightful articles from experienced guinea pig owners, veterinarians, or pet care professionals. If you have unique perspectives or helpful tips to share, I’d love to hear from you.
  • 🎥 Product Reviews: I’m interested in trying out and reviewing products that can improve guinea pig care or make owners’ lives easier. If you have a product that fits this description, let’s discuss featuring it on the blog.
  • 🤝 Sponsorships: I’m open to partnering with brands that offer high-quality, ethical products for guinea pigs. I value my readers’ trust and am committed to honest recommendations.
  • 🎙️ Expert Interviews: I’d be glad to feature conversations with veterinarians, animal behaviorists, or other small animal care experts to provide professional insights to my readers.
  • 🤜🤛 Cross-Promotion: If you run a blog or social media account focused on pet care or small animals, I’m interested in exploring mutually beneficial cross-promotion opportunities.

If you have a collaboration idea, please fill out the form below. But first, please read through this brief list of rules:

  • For Guest Posts: Whilst I accept guest posts, I do have some style guidelines I like you to follow. All links will be marked as no-follow, product reviews will contain disclaimers as per the FTC (USA) and ASA (UK) rules.
  • Want me to promote your product?: I’m happy to recommend products to my readers that I use and love. Any reviews/promotional posts will be honest, as I want my readers to trust that I only recommend high quality products. This might mean that I rave about your product, but it might also mean that I’m not a fan. All products I promote must be guinea pig safe, and must have passed all required testing and safety checks for the countries they’re sold in.
  • Expert Interviews: Interviews should focus on providing valuable, practical information for guinea pig owners. Any experts that I interiew should have verifiable credentials in their field. We’ll agree on main topics and how the interview takes place (e.g. email) beforehand. Any links included in interviews will be nofollow.
  • Blogger collabs/cross-promos: I love working with other bloggers, but there are some rules to follow. Blogs must not be part of a commercial site (e.g. store), and blogging must be the main goal of your website. All cross-promotions will adhere to Google’s guidelines for link schemes to ensure we maintain the integrity of both our sites. Content shared should be relevant, high-quality, and valuable to our respective audiences. Both parties should have a similar commitment to ethical pet care and accurate information.
  • Affiliates: If you wish for me to promote your product as part of an affiliate scheme, it must be relevant to my readers. It needs to be a guinea pig care related product or guinea pig merch that someone who owns a guinea pig would be interested in. All products I recommend through affiliates are recommended to help my readers, be safe for guinea pigs (if relevant) and I must like the product.
  • I don’t work for free: Finally, I do not write/publish any guest posts/promotional/sponsored content for free or in exchange for products. The exception being blogger collabs and some interviews if I believe these are valuable to my readers.

If this sounds good, please get in touch.
